Dr. Susan Mbu

Dr. Mbu is an internal Medicine Physician. She was born and raised in Cameroon and came to the United States when she was fifteen years of age.  She started her Career as a Nurses Aid and became a Respiratory Therapist at the age of nineteen. She earned her Respiratory Therapy degree at University of Medicine and Dentistry /Essex County College in NJ, and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Minor in Biology at Winston Salem State University in North Carolina.

She completed medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg Virginia in 2015 and her residency at University of Florida-Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida in 2018.  Prior to starting medical school, she worked as a Respiratory Therapist for seven years.

Dr. Mbu is the co-author of the book Beyond Challenges, where a group of female migrant physicians express their experiences and struggles, not only in Medicine, but in life, love, and health while trying to integrate into a different culture.
